Anke was recently on Site Inspection in the Okavango Delta
In July our colleague had the fortunate opportunity to intensively experience eight camps in Botswana. At present it is high season there, the drainage area of the delta fills up from June, fed by the Okavango River and can be counted as a last remaining Eco paradise on our planet.
Anke suggests a lodge combination for e.g. with Camp Sable Alley in the Khwai Concession combined with sister camp Meno a Kwena in the more arid region of the Makgadikgadi Pan National Park. A multitude of contrasts await the rich green landscape of the delta and is the perfect habitat for the Big 5. Anke mentioned that around the camp there were leopards, wild dogs, elephants, hyenas, hippopotami and a large herd of active buffalo.
In Camp Meno-a-Kwena guests can the experience amongst others the zebra migration along the Boteti River and learn more about the culture of the San-Bushmen or enjoy a sleep-out under the unique starlit sky. The cuisine in camp was also a sublime experience.
Anke will assist in planning your dream Africa journey! Some adventure included is always good and it is a unique experience to lie in one’s tent in the evenings with a lion roar that can be heard up to 8km away.
