Anke Rochau, born and raised in the historic Pied Piper town of Hamelin, has spent much of her life in cities such as Münster, Frankfurt, and Hanover. During her many years working for renowned tourism companies like DER and TUI, she gained valuable experience. Inspired by her passionate enthusiasm for Africa and after numerous trips through the southern part of the continent, the experienced Tourism expert went to Cape Town in 2003.
With over 40 years of professional experience, a deep passion for Africa, and correspondingly excellent destination knowledge, she also organises sophisticated trips for VIPs, ministerial delegations, and renowned companies. Anke's extensive network and logistical expertise are absolutely crucial for travel planning. Her curiosity for cool lodges and activities, and her desire to explore new regions, remains undiminished even after so many years. To this day, Anke considers it a special honor to work with her guests to create a personalised and unforgettable experience during the most precious time of the year – their vacation.
Our colleague Sarah Sinn was born and raised in South Africa and has Austrian roots. During her youth, family and educational trips throughout Europe allowed her to immerse herself in various cultures, thus igniting a lifelong passion for travel.
Almost 10 years ago, while studying tourism, Sarah joined our team and gained valuable insights into the travel industry early on. Since then, she has continuously expanded her extensive knowledge of destinations in Southern and East Africa – she particularly loves safaris, for example in Kruger National Park, but also road trips along the Garden Route. Sarah has experienced Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania extensively through numerous trips and has personally tested many lodges!
Katharina grew up in the Ruhr region and discovered her passion for travel during a year abroad in Australia. Since then, she has traveled to numerous European countries and steadily deepened her enthusiasm for new cultures. In 2023, her travels took her to Cape Town – originally planned for six months, the city quickly became her new home. She was particularly captivated by the people, the nature, and the lifestyle.
After completing her training in the hotel industry, Katharina gained extensive experience in customer service and office management. Positions at Deutsche Bahn and in a management role at a 4-star hotel in Austria shaped her professional career. At Inspiration Afrika, Katharina is responsible for office management. Values such as open communication, reliability, and respectful collaboration are absolutely essential to her!
Sherry grew up in various regions of South Africa. At the age of 20, she embarked on a formative adventure in Europe, discovering numerous cultures and developing a special love for Germany, which she has visited several times since. Sherry began her professional career as a junior accountant. In the following years, she gained extensive experience in various financial positions and now works as a freelance accountant.
Sherry currently lives in Cape Town and is actively involved in her local community, supporting charitable projects. Whether summer or winter, her passion is swimming in the open ocean. As a part-time bookkeeper, Sherry supports our team with her expertise, reliability, and great enthusiasm for her work.
Together with our supporting customer-specific projectsopening doors and creating encounters – that is precisely our inspiration! Our desire is to bring you closer to the “other South Africa”, so that we can all better understand the colorful mix of Xhosa, Zulu and Ndebele cultures, etc., as well as their rituals and everyday challenges.
Our vision and motivation is to bring a little smile to the faces of disadvantaged families and especially children through their visit to South Africa.
