Social commitment is very important to us. Our owner, Anke Rochau, has been a Lions Club member here in Cape Town for 18 years. Especially during the pandemic, we were heavily involved in aid projects, cooking meals in garages and supporting soup kitchens and local initiatives in and around Cape Town.
Our goal is to support targeted projects together with our clients, open doors, and facilitate encounters. We want to introduce you to the "other South Africa"—the diversity of the Xhosa, Zulu, and Ndebele cultures, their traditions, their challenges, and their remarkable strength.
Our vision is to bring a smile to the faces of disadvantaged families – especially children – through your trip to South Africa. For many years, we have sponsored a salary at the Baphumelele orphanage and we support the “Naked Baby Project“ of the Lions Club. Every year we provide hundreds of baby starter kits for new mothers in township maternity clinics. If you would like to help, we are always very grateful for donations of gently used baby clothes or cuddly toys from Germany.”
We would be happy to arrange Individual township tours with the multi-award-winning local provider UTHANDO. This tour visits hand-picked community projects and provides extensive background information on living conditions in the neighborhoods. The fee of approximately €100 for this tour is also your donation, which goes directly to the numerous Uthando projects.
We support the project with regular donations for Township Glasses Project JONGA or engage in Homeless people in and around Cape Town. We also support animal shelters on the Cape Peninsula and the West Coast that care for cats and dogs. Here, we primarily allocate funds for sterilization programs to various facilities.
If you are interested, we would also be happy to combine a visit to the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg or a visit to Robben Island with your travel program to give you a better insight into the recent apartheid history of South Africa.
We are also committed to long-term projects in Mozambique: Near the Travessia Beach Lodge (Inhambane Province), we support a primary school by covering the cost of the teachers' salaries. This gives children in these remote regions a better start in life.
We also visit projects in the townships with tour groups and incentive clients. For example, a generous donation from the company BUDERUS enabled the community project Ithemba Labantu, located just outside Cape Town, to be equipped with urgently needed solar panels.
