Positive Developments in the Western Cape
Cape Town and the Cape region are currently experiencing an impressive upswing—a trend confirmed by the feedback from our guests over the past few months.
One of the city’s most famous landmarks, the V&A Waterfront, is undergoing an exciting phase of redevelopment. Extensive expansion projects are shaping the landscape:
The new Marriott Edition Cape Town is emerging as another architectural highlight, while on the Granger Bay side, a forward-looking land reclamation project covering approximately 3.5 hectares is being prepared.
The expected total investments in the coming years will be around 1.2 Billion USD —an impressive sign of confidence in this extraordinary destination.

The region is developing with remarkable dynamism: Targeted initiatives by the provincial government have laid the groundwork for hundreds of thousands of new, long-term jobs. The construction and service sectors in particular—including international call centers—are experiencing strong growth and underscore the region’s growing importance as an economic hub.
But the Cape region sets standards not only economically, but also ecologically:
Last year alone, 24 new nature reserves were designated in the Western Cape. This means that an additional 82,000 hectares of unique landscapes and valuable ecosystems are now permanently protected.
