Anke Rochau, born and raised in the historic town of Hamelin (famous for the Pied Piper), spent much of her life in cities like Münster, Frankfurt, and Hanover. During her many years working for renowned tourism companies such as DER and TUI, she gained valuable experience. Inspired by her passionate enthusiasm for Africa and after numerous trips through the southern part of the continent, the experienced tourism expert moved to Cape Town in 2003.
With over 40 years of professional experience, a great passion for Africa, and excellent knowledge of the destination, she also organizes sophisticated trips for VIPs, ministerial delegations, and well-known companies. Anke’s extensive network and her logistical expertise are absolutely crucial for travel planning. Her curiosity for cool lodges and activities and exploring new regions remains unbroken even after so many years. To this day, it is a special honor for Anke to work with her guests to design the most valuable time of the year – their vacation – in an individual and unforgettable way.
Our colleague Sarah Sinn was born and raised in South Africa and has Austrian roots. In her youth, she deepened her understanding of different cultures through family and educational trips within Europe, sparking a lifelong passion for travel.
Sarah joined our team nearly 10 years ago while studying tourism and was able to gain valuable insights into the travel industry early on. Since then, she has continuously expanded her extensive knowledge of Southern and Eastern Africa – she especially loves safaris, for example in the Kruger National Park, but also road trips along the Garden Route. Sarah has experienced Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania intensively through numerous trips of her own and has personally tested many lodges!
Katharina grew up in the Ruhr area and discovered her passion for travel during a year abroad in Australia. Since then, she has traveled to numerous European countries and steadily deepened her enthusiasm for new cultures. In 2023, her path led her to Cape Town – originally planned for six months, the city quickly became her new home. She was particularly inspired by the people, the nature, and the way of life.
After her training in the hotel industry, Katharina gained extensive experience in customer service and office management. Positions at Deutsche Bahn and in a management role at a 4-star hotel in Austria shaped her professional career. At Inspiration Africa, Katharina is responsible for office management. Values such as open communication, reliability, and respectful cooperation are essential to her!
Sherry grew up in various regions of South Africa. At the age of 20, she started a formative adventure in Europe, discovered numerous cultures, and developed a special love for Germany, which she has visited several times since. Sherry began her professional career as a junior accountant. In the following years, she gained extensive experience in various financial positions and now works as a freelance accountant.
Sherry currently lives in Cape Town and is actively involved in her local community supporting charitable projects. Whether summer or winter – her passion is open-water swimming. As a part-time accountant, Sherry supports our team with expertise, reliability, and great enthusiasm for her profession.
Supporting targeted projects together with our customers, opening doors, and creating encounters – that is exactly our inspiration! It is our desire to introduce you to the “other South Africa” so that we can all learn to better understand the colorful mix of Xhosa, Zulu, and Ndebele cultures, as well as their rituals and daily challenges.
Our vision and motivation is to bring a small smile to the faces of disadvantaged families and especially children through your visit to South Africa.
